Report: Bayern Munich eye Man United's frustrated Varane
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in a move for Raphael Vareane, who is said to be unhappy with his current role at Manchester United.
The 30-year-old joined the Red Devils in the summer of 2021 after a remarkable career with Real Madrid, with which he won four UCL titles. His time at Old Trafford has been marred with injuries, but when fit, he was first choice centre-back for the most part of it, alongside Lisandro Martinez.
Bayern interested in Varane
According to Metro UK, the Bavarians are interested in the French World Cup winner and they are weighing up a move for him this winter.
The defender is said to be unhappy with his current status at the club, as he has started only one of the Red Devils last eight games.
He has fallen down the pecking order, as Ten Hag seemingly prefers the combination of Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans and even preferred to start Victor Lindelof when Evans suffered an injury over Varane.
Bayern are said to be monitoring the situation and have been informed that they could get him for a fee between €20 million and €30 million. His high wages could prove a stumbling block, however, as he is currently on a mammoth €350,000 weekly wage.
