Former leaders, Sporting Lagos, will look to continue their unbeaten start to the season when they welcome Doma United to Lagos. 

The Noisy Lagosians have picked up four points from their first two matches and are one of only two teams yet to concede this season. 

In Akwa, the renewed and reinvigorated Ranges will host Niger Tornadoes. The Flying Antelopes are looking to return to winning ways after a 2-1 defeat to Remo Stars in their last outing.

Mid-table battles

It is normal for the focus to be often on the title race, but there are clubs in the mid-table who will also offer possible captivating clashes later today. 

Gombe United will hope to build on the win against champions Enyimba when they face Shooting Stars in Ibadan.

Abia Warriors welcome Kano Pillars in Umuahia with the Ochendo Babes looking for a second win of the season against the newly promoted former champions.

Relegation Clashes

All roads lead to Aba where defending champions Enyimba will have their hands full against Akwa United.

The People’s Elephant currently sit at the bottom of the table and Finidi George and his boys will be under pressure to leave that spot after 90 minutes.

Another super clash will see 16th-placed Remo Stars as visitors to Bayelsa United, who sits 8th on the NPFL table. 

Remo lost on their last visit to the South-South following a 2-0 defeat to Bayelsa’s neighbours, Rivers United. 

The Sky Blues’ hope will be to avoid another slip-up against another United side, this time led by a certain Robert Mizo, who sits at the top of the race for the Golden Boot.
