Enyimba vs Ahly

After a gallant display away from home saw the NPFL champions score three away goals in a 4-3 defeat, there were hopes the Aba millionaires would turn things around at home in the second leg.

However, it ended in disappointment for the Kanu-led side following a goalless affair in Aba.

Benghazi came with a game plan which they executed to perfection as Finidi George’s men were caged for 90 minutes.

The away side ended up with the ticket to the next phase after a 4-3 aggregate win while Enyimba are left to rue what might have been.

Before the decisive clash, Nwankwo and his wife tried to inspire the Elephants with some nice words.

“Are you ready?” Kanu posted on his story. “White and Blue all the way. Enyimba Enyi, the Peoples Elephant Nsogbu Nsogbu,” he added.

Despite the beautiful pictures and words from the former two-time African Footballer of the Year, Enyimba failed to make their home advantage count in the end.

The Elephants will not be adding to their two CAF Champions League titles this season following the shock exit.
