After two matches in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), ‘noisy Lagosians,’ Sporting Lagos top the table with four points.

Gateway United was drawn in Southern Group B alongside Warri Wolves, Osun United, Ikorodu United Giant Brila, FC One Rocket, Ijebu United, Tradesafe, Crown FC, and Inter Lagos.

Sporting Lagos won their first game against Gombe 2-0 at the Mobolaji Jhonson Arena before sharing spoils with Akwa United at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

Sporting Lagos first test of the season was against former NPFL champions, Akwa United away from home.

The Noisy Lagosians picked a point at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium after they dominated most of the first half, holding the ball, building up from the back and creating half chances.

The second half was dominated by the host as both sides failed to get a goal after 90 minutes.

With two matches played, Sporting Lagos are topping the NPFL table with four points while Lobi Stars maintained second spot with same points.

Reacting after the game, Sporting Lagos assistant coach, Edward Green revealed that the game is agreat experince for his players.

He added that they will keep getting the neccessary points.

"It’s not a bad result. It was our first away game against a very good side, and we were able to keep them shut. It was a great experience for the team. We’ll keep working hard to not just draw but pick up maximum points on the road," he said

On the next home game, he contiuned, "We’re already mentally preparing for it. It’s a home game against Doma and we know we need to take maximum points at home."

Sporting Lagos will host Doma United on Matchday three in Lagos.
