Michelle Alozie: Super Falcons star asks Nigerians to teach her Pidgin English

Michelle Alozie has become one of Nigeria's most popular football players and has reached out to Nigerians in her quest for a new language.

In a delightful turn of events, prominent Super Falcons player Michelle Alozie has expressed an interest in improving her Pidgin English. 

Pulse Sports Nigeria can report that Alozie made the plea during a time out with her fans where she reached out to fellow Nigerians for assistance in this linguistic endeavour.

African giants, the Super Falcons, known for their remarkable achievements in women’s football, have a diverse and talented squad and Alozie is a valuable member of that squad. 

The 26-year-old from Imo State, who was born in America, was a standout performer in her first-ever major outing with the Falcons.

Alozie proved key as Super Falcons proved doubters wrong to reach the round of 16 at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia.

She featured from start to finish as she helped Nigeria become the first African side to keep three clean sheets at the FIFAWWC.

Hanging out with her fans on TikTok live, Alozie’s appeal to learn Pidgin English, a widely spoken and cherished dialect in Nigeria, showcases her commitment to connecting with her compatriots and the culture she proudly represents. 

In her heartfelt plea, she expressed her eagerness to improve and connect with the fans while also acknowledging that her Super Falcons teammates have been helping her.

“I dey pose, I dey pose,” she started. “Guys, teach me how to speak some better Pidgin because I don’t feel confident (when speaking).”

She added that she can understand when others speak but she wants to be able to converse as well.

“I can understand it more than I can speak it,” she added. 

Alozie’s genuine enthusiasm to learn Pidgin English struck a chord and garnered support from fans who tuned in as monitored by Pulse Sports Nigeria.
