Following the leave of absence granted to Antony, Manchester United are reportedly in the free agent market for a winger.

Manchester United are reportedly interested in Dutch winger Anwar El Ghazi following recent developments concerning Antony and Jadon Sancho.

El Ghazi, 28, previously played in the Premier League for Aston Villa and Everton. He joined PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie, and after one season, he is now available as a free agent.

This makes him eligible for acquisition by Manchester United, who are weighing up a move, according to Sky Sports, despite the close of the European transfer window.

Why Manchester United need a new winger

As Pulse Sports reported, Manchester United announced that Antony would not be joining the team for training "until further notice."

The club has granted the £85 million winger a leave of absence as a result of three women accusing him of domestic abuse.

Before the confirmed unavailability of the Brazilian winger for Manchester United matches henceforth, Jadon Sancho's participation for the next few games or even more was in doubt.

The England international was not included in the Manchester United squad that lost 3-1 to Arsenal, and when asked, Erik ten Hag claimed Sancho's poor form in training was why he was dropped.

The former Dortmund player was offended by the statement and took his grievances to social media, claiming he was being scapegoated and suggesting his manager was a liar.

It remains to be seen whether the winger will face punishment, with the incident coming before an international break.

Also, young Elanga is currently out with an injury, leaving Facundo Pellistri as the only true senior right-winger without a question mark over his participation in the next match.
