Solskjaer eyes Manchester United return after rejecting latest coaching job

Former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems set to stay on without a job after he rejected a managerial offer. 

Solskjaer has been out of a job since he was fired by his former club Manchester United in November 2021 but seems not to be in a hurry for a new role. 

It’s been quiet for the United legend since he left the Red Devils but he has now passed on the chance to manage his country’s national Women’s team. 

According to a report by the Mirror, the 50-year-old was offered the chance to handle his country’s women’s team after a disastrous FIFAWWC out.

But Ole rejected the opportunity as the wait for what fits continues for the former Molde and Cardiff City coach.

"Yes, I have spoken to the association about the job as national coach, of course, I have,” Solskjaer told Norwegian outlet NRK as per Mirror. “They have asked. But I'm not ready for that yet.”

Norway parted ways with their former manager Hege Riise after a disappointing tournament at the ninth FIFAWWC co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia in the summer.

Norway reached the round of 16 where they were knocked by a brilliant Samurai Ladies from Japan.

The country’s exit in the first knockout stage of the FIFAWWC was viewed as a failure, with Riise’s made to pay with a sack.

While Ole won’t be managing his country’s national women’s side any time soon, he remains interested in returning to management as he believes he still has one more job in him - perhaps a return to hos former side, the Red Devils.

“I’ve got another job in me if it’s the right chance and exciting enough,” he added per Mirror.

“There are so many clubs, but I’m not going to work just for the sake of working. It has to be something special, a new culture, or a club that really excites me. Or maybe they will want me back at the club (United) in some capacity, who knows?”
