Rojo left the club following a lack of game time under Solskjaer, with the tough-tackling Argentine defender moving back to his hometown club, Boca Juniors.

Following the arrival of the England international, Rojo lost his place but the Argentine defender believes he did not understand why the former Leicester player was preferred to him.

'In 2019 I was very good in England,” Rojo said per Daily Mail. “I was playing in the Europa League but I was very angry with the coach because he was putting Maguire in the team instead of me.”

Rojo was a regular for the Reds in Europe but only started one game in the Premier League which eventually led to his exit from the club in 2020.

“Thank God they have taken him out now and Licha [Lisandro] Martinez is playing.

'One day I went to Solskjaer's office to tell him to let me leave for another club or put me in the starting line-up. I said it was wrong that I wasn't playing.”
