‘It’s a pleasure, an honor for me to be considered a candidate for the Ballon d’Or,” said Achraf Hakimi, PSG's Moroccan full-back, thrilled to be named among the elite.

Speaking at the FIFA Club World Cup, where he has been pivotal in Paris Saint-Germain’s run to the semi-finals, Hakimi told Africa Top Sports:

Since joining PSG from Inter Milan in July 2021, Hakimi has solidified his status as one of the world’s premier right-backs.

He’s also a strong contender to outshine Ademola Lookman and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah for the CAF Player of the Year award.
