France embassy reaffirms commitment to development of stars for Super Eagles

The Embassy of France in Nigeria has reaffirmed its strong commitment to the development of grassroots and youth football in Nigeria, following the successful completion of the U15 Football Tournament in Makurdi.

The competition, organised in collaboration with the Moses Simon Foundation and the Benue State Football Association, featured top young talents across the region.

Simoiben FC, who finished in third place, were specially hosted by the French Embassy in Abuja after the tournament.

During the visit, the players were warmly received by officials of the embassy, including Katty Regis, from the attached Cooperation department. Regis addressed the young athletes, emphasising the importance of discipline, focus, and dedication in their pursuit of a professional football career.

She urged them to remain committed to their dreams and to use their talents responsibly, reminding them that hard work and good character are essential ingredients for long-term success.

In a statement, the Embassy of France reiterated its belief in the power of sports to transform lives.

“We believe in sports to open doors, build confidence, and create opportunities for all,” the statement read.

The embassy also noted that its commitment extends beyond the football pitch, highlighting its broader support for youth development, education, and social inclusion through sports as a tool for empowerment in Nigeria.

The Embassy further expressed appreciation to the Moses Simon Foundation for its continued investment in young athletes and for championing development and inclusion through sports.
