Nigeria vs Egypt: Venue, time and date for Super Eagles AFCON build-up against Pharaohs

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially confirmed that the Super Eagles will set up their pre-tournament training camp in Cairo, Egypt, as preparations intensify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The decision comes as the national team takes full advantage of high-level training conditions in North Africa to assemble a strong and competitive squad ahead of the continental showpiece.

Head Coach Eric Chelle has unveiled a 55-man provisional squad, marking the first phase of team selection. The list will be trimmed to the final 28-man squad by Thursday, December 11, as mandated by tournament regulations.

The Nigerian team is expected to depart for Cairo on Wednesday, December 10, where they will settle into camp and begin their final phase of preparation.

As part of their build-up, the three-time African champions will take on the Pharaohs of Egypt in a prestigious international friendly. The match is scheduled for Sunday, December 14, at the Cairo International Stadium.

The fixture is expected to provide an important test for the Super Eagles, allowing Chelle to assess team chemistry, tactical shape, and individual player readiness.

Beyond the Egypt-friendly, the NFF has revealed that additional tune-up matches are being arranged to ensure the squad hits peak form before the tournament kicks off.

These games will likely pit Nigeria against top-tier African or Middle Eastern opposition, offering a competitive atmosphere ahead of the continental showdown.

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled to commence on Sunday, December 21, in Morocco.
