The Brazilian had a bright start to the game. He won a penalty around the half-hour mark to hand Manuel Pellegrini’s side a chance to forge ahead; however, Giovanni Lo Celso missed from the spot.

Betis went into the break with one man up after Igor Zubeldia was sent off for a last-man tackle. Buoyed by the advantage, the Heliopolitans roared out the gate in the second-half and scored only six minutes after resumption.

Antony was the scorer. The Manchester United loanee latched onto a fortuitous rebound at the edge of the box, releasing a driver to beat Alex Ramiro to hand his new employees the lead.

Marc Roca doubled Betis’s lead, and the former Bayern Munich midfielder scored the third, with Antony involved for his first assist in Betis’ green. The 24-year-old laid it on a plate for Roca, who fired a low-driven shot to beat Ramiro at his near post.

The triumph over Real Sociedad was Antony's first victory in LALIGA as a Real Betis player. He also picked up his third consecutive Man of the Match award.
