Sergio Ramos: Over 22, 000 fans watch Real Madrid legend cry in Sevilla presentation

Sergio Ramos has returned to his boyhood club Sevilla after a successful journey that has taken him to Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain and felt the love from fans on a special and emotional day.

It was an emotional day in Seville as former Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos completed his sensational return to his boyhood club, Sevilla. 

Ramos has returned to where his incredible football journey started, 18 years after he left for giants Real Madrid.

The club pulled all the stops to win the race for the legendary 37-year-old stopper. 

Ramos has since put pen to paper on a one-year loan that will see him spend the rest of the 2023/2024 campaign in his hometown of Seville.

He was linked with a big-money move to moneybags, Saudi Arabia, who dominated the summer transfer with their incredible pull, signed some of the biggest names and talents in Europe. 

The former Real Madrid skipper was also wanted by clubs from the Major League Soccer, MLS, as per various reports but chose to return home in the end.

Sevilla present Ramos

18 years after he left the club, aged 19, Ramos is back to roll back the years with his boyhood side and fans. 

Ramos rejected better offers to return to Sevilla and was presented to the fans on Wednesday. 

The presentation was witnessed by over 22, 000 fans according to the club as Ramos was overwhelmed with emotions as he broke down in tears per a video posted by Relevo on X.com.

He went on to tell the club media that it was a special moment and emotional day for him that brought back memories. 

"It's a very special and emotional day,” Ramos told the club website. “Many have passed, but like the day I debuted here, today is again a special day, in which I return home.”

“I still feel loved despite everything that has happened and I want to thank you for allowing me to feel loved on this lap. I would like to take this opportunity to thank once again all the people who have made it possible for me to defend this shield again. “

Ramos was not alone as he shared the moment with his family, his four children and his wife, who also jumped on the grass to wrap him up on a long-awaited day, per the club. 

Pablo Blanco, Joaquín Caparrós and Jesús Navas, three important people in his life, where also there to celebrate his special day with him.
