Sergio Ramos reportedly close to joining Sevilla as a free agent.

Sergio Ramos has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to return to Sevilla, despite receiving offers from Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

The 27-year-old rose through the ranks at Sevilla but left for Real Madrid at only 19. He went on to have an all-timer career with Los Blancos, before joining Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2021.

His contract was not extended by the French club, and when it expired at the end of the previous campaign, he became a free agent.

According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, the former Spain international is set for a return to the record Europa League winners.

Ramos has been strongly linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, with SPL champions Al-Ittihad keen on landing him.

He was also said to be of interest to Besiktas in the Turkey Super Lig, but the LALIGA side has seemingly beaten them to the chase.

The deal is said to be on a short-term basis, but further details were not revealed.

Meanwhile, Ramos’ former teammate Neymar has had strong words to say about his and Messi's struggles at Paris Saint-Germain.

The 31-year-old Brazilian was Messi's teammate at Barcelona before leaving for PSG in the summer of 2017.

The duo reunited in the French capital in 2021 after Messi's time in Catalonia came to an end, and for two seasons they were teammates at PSG.

Both players left the club this summer, with the Argentine leaving for the MLS and the former Santos star moving to the Saudi Professional League.

Despite winning two league titles in their time together, their lack of success in the Champions League, among other things, alienated them from the PSG fanbase, who became vocal with their displeasure, booing the duo as well as sending expletives their way.

Messi has spoken on how difficult his time at the club was since joining Inter Miami, saying it was a tough two years for him and his family.

Neymar, who himself is now at Al-Hilal has now opened up about the difficulties the duo had and how 2022 was a year of mixed feelings.
