'Racism, out of football' — Spanish FA acts after Vinicius racist abuse

The RFEF has launched a campaign to kick out racism and Xenophobia in football.

In the wake of the media storm that followed racist insults directed at Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior at Valencia's Mestella stadium, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has launched an awareness campaign against intolerance. 

As Pulse Sports reported in detail, the federation's president, Luis Rubiales, admitted to a racism problem in the country and promised that they would take action. This initiative follows his promise.

According to Relevo, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) is launching a campaign that starts today to sensitise people against racism. 

The campaign's slogan is "Racists, out of football," and per the report, its mission is to kick away racism and xenophobia from football. 

The campaign will not be limited to the Spanish top flight and the Segunda; it will include amateur and grassroots football. 

A part of the movement will see players gesture the stop sign with their hands as a symbol for the campaign to halt racism.

Meanwhile, LaLiga president Javier Tebas took to Twitter to defend the league and criticise Vinicius' statement on the Spanish top flight's stance against racism

The Real Madrid player was a victim of racist insults in Los Blancos' 1-0 loss to Valencia at the Mestalla.

Following the incident that saw him get red-carded, the Brazil international took to his social media to criticise the league's 'inaction' against racism.
