Spanish Football Federation president Luis Rubiales speaks on racism in Spanish football.

Contrary to the stance of LaLiga president Javier Tebas, who took to Twitter to criticise Vinicius and claim the league was not racist, the RFEF (Spanish Football Federation) president, Luis Rubiales, has admitted the problem of racism in the country.

What Rubiales said

In a press conference following the media storm over Vinicius' racism incident, the football administrator discusses the situation and what he calls a "serious problem."

In a tweet, LaLiga president Tebas disagreed with Vinicius, suggesting that the racist abuses are only propagated by a few and that the league cannot be judged by the actions of these few.

Rubiales, on the other hand, believes that even if only one person engages in racist insults, then the league has a critical problem. He then assured that the football federation would swing into action and punish the perpetrators.

"First of all, we need to admit that we have a problem," he said, per Sky Sports.

"A problem of behaviour, of education, of racism If only one fan, one nasty person, one group of nasty people insults someone for their sexual orientation, for their skin colour, for their religion, then we do have a serious problem.

"The federation will act, and I am convinced that it will punish."

Meanwhile, following the racial taunts he endured against Valencia on Sunday night, star player Vinicius Junior met with Real Madrid President Florentino Perez.
