Barcelona drop points in consecutive games following draw to gutsy Getafe
Barcelona played out a second consecutive 0-0 draw following a stiffly contested encounter at Getafe.
The Azulones hosted Xavi Hernandez's men at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez as they looked to continue their impressive record against the league leaders at home. They achieved their objective by shutting out what was a blunt Blaugrana attack in a dull goalless draw.
How it happened
Barcelona hold a comfortable lead at the top of LaLiga, but their recent form in front of goal leaves a lot to be desired, and it continued into this game.
The hosts started the better side and threatened Ter Stegen's goal early in the game with multiple attempts, but they did not manage to beat the German goalkeeper.
The visitors soon played their way into proceeding and soon started to create chances of their own, crashing the ball against the woodwork twice, but the scoreline remained goalless at halftime.
The second 45 minutes had a similar tone to the first-half, with Barcelona having the most of the ball, and Getafe threatening on offensive transitions, but neither team putting the ball across the line.
Both managers dipped their hands into the benches as they attempted to change the course of the game, but even the new additions failed to introduce anything novel into the drab affair.
