Inter Milan eyeing three Barcelona defender in the summer

Before the start of the 2023–24 season, Barcelona had eight centre-backs. The likes of Samuel Umtiti and Clement Lenglet, who will finish their respective loan terms, are also included.

However, the team's first-choice defensive pairing is rotated between Ronald Araujo, Jules Kounde, and Andreas Christensen but Xavi frequently chooses to play Marcos Alonso in central defence as well.

Recent contract negotiations resulted in the Spaniard committing to Barcelona until the year 2024 but still being chased by clubs.

In the upcoming summer transfer window, Inter are apparently interested in four defenders, Franck Kessie, Marcelo Brozovic, Jordi Alba, and Umtiti.

According to a Mundo Deportivo source, Inter Milan are keeping an eye on Andreas Christensen, Samuel Umtiti, and Marcos Alonso.

This season, the Frenchman has taken steps to revitalise his Serie A career by playing on loan for Lecce. His performance has drawn interest from a few clubs.

In Barcelona, Christensen is regarded as one of Xavi's favourites in his back-four and has given the Danish international a starting berth. Despite the prospect of significant offers in the summer, it is not anticipated that he would depart.

Alonso's departure also looks unlikely, barring Inter putting a compelling offer. The veteran defender is obviously a favourite of Xavi's because he has put him above Eric Garcia in the centre-back ranking.

Meanwhile, Dani Olmo has been on the radar of Manchester United and Real Madrid but the Spanish midfielder is looking at the possibility of joining Barcelona. The Leipzig midfielder has caught the eye of several European giants after having an impressive season with his current team.
