WWE Backlash 2025: 5 Key things to know as John Cena vs Randy Orton headlines epic match card

WWE Backlash 2025 is here, and with it comes a night of high stakes, nostalgia, and fresh rivalries. 

Fresh off the heels of WrestleMania 41, WWE is wasting no time ramping up the drama with a jam-packed event headlined by a legendary showdown: John Cena vs Randy Orton for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Ahead of Saturday night’s big event at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Pulse Sports runs down  are six things every fan should know.

This isn’t just another main event. It is possibly the last clash between two of WWE’s most iconic figures.

 John Cena, now the Undisputed Champion for a record 17th time, faces his long-time rival and 14-time world champion Randy Orton, in Orton’s hometown of St. Louis – adding emotion and tension to an already historic rivalry. 

With over 20 years of shared ring history, this could be the ultimate send-off for their saga.

WWE Backlash 2025 will be held at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri, a venue with deep wrestling roots and as mentioned earlier, it’s home turf for Randy Orton. 

Expect an electric crowd and a fiercely partisan atmosphere, especially when the Viper walks down the aisle whilst hearing voices in his head.

WWE Backlash airs Saturday, 10 May.

The Main show begins at 7 p.m. ET / 12 a.m. BST.

However, the preshow and countdown to WWE Backlash begins at 5 p.m. ET / 10 p.m. BSTThe two-hour preshow will preview all the night’s action and feature backstage interviews and expert panel commentary.

Fans in the United States can stream the event live on Peacock (premium subscription required).

International viewers, including those in the UK, can catch the action live on Netflix in most markets.

The Countdown to Backlash preshow will be available on WWE’s official YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok pages.
