According to reports from Germany, Stanisic has made it clear that he wants to continue his stay at the BayArena, rather than returning to the Bavarian giants.

The player has enjoyed a significant increase in playing time and trust under the guidance of manager Xabi Alonso, which has been a driving factor behind his decision.

"Josip Stanišić does not want to return to Bayern this summer and would like to stay in Leverkusen,” a report by Bavarianfootballwork stated.

“He informed the club of that. Still no talks between clubs - talks expected to take place after the end of the season. It remains to be seen whether Bayern will sell to a direct competitor."
