Following the painful collapse which saw Mikel Arteta and his Gunners finish seven points behind City, the club is looking to strengthen this summer as they look to go again next season.

According to a report from TalkSport, the former City man believes Arsenal need to go for two relegated stars, James Maddison from Leicester City, James Ward-Prowse of Southampton, who he described as a ‘game changer’ and Declan Rice, the West Ham United defensive midfielder.

On the players he wants to see his team sign, Sagna said; “James Maddison from Leicester. I also really like (James0 Ward-Prowse. He is a player that can change a game on his own.”

“Every team needs a player that can change a game in a heartbeat. You know when Arsenal used to play Stoke, Rory Delap was a player that could change a game on his own because of his long throws.

“Ward-Prowse is a master at set pieces. When a game is locked and you have a player with his ability, that is so dangerous.”

Speaking further, he added;

“I think that the only way for Arsenal to allow (Granit) Xhaka to leave is by signing Declan Rice. If Xhaka leaves, then I would hope Arsenal may very well have something lined up with Rice.”
