2 players Newcastle United want as they look to invade relegated Leicester City
The Magpies will storm the relegated Leicester to shop for players as they begin to prepare for life in the Champions League next season.
Leicester will play in the Championship next season the club was relegated from the Premier League on the final day of the season on Sunday.
Newcastle United eye Leicester stars
According to a report from ESPN Africa, the Magpies have their eyes on Harvey Barnes and James Maddison.
Newcastle have pencilled both players for possible transfer as they look to build a bigger squad for what will be a cruelling campaign in four competitions next season.
Per the report, Barnes is keen on a move to St James’ Park should Newcastle push hard for his signature.
The 25-year-old was in fine form on be last day of the season after he scored in Leicester’s 2-1 win over West Ham United on the final day.
However, the victory was not enough to keep them in the Premier League as fellow candidate Everton got the business done at home following a 1-0 win over AFC Bournemouth.
Maddison was in action against the Hammers and played from start to finish.
Barnes scored 13 goals and assisted one while Maddison added 10 goals and nine assists for the Foxes.
Both players will be incredible additions to an already stacked Newcastle United side that finished fourth in the 2023 Premier League season.
