Premier League club Arsenal are reportedly in danger of losing one of their best players William Saliba to French giants Paris Saint-Germain, PSG.
The Gunners are said to be struggling to tie down the impressive Saliba, who was the club’s standout defender before he picked up a season-ending injury last season.
Saliba’s demand puts Arsenal off
The 22-year-old year has just a year left on his current contract at the Emirates.
But according to a TalkSport report, the Gunners could be forced to cash in on him after contract talks failed to yield a positive result.
Arsenal are keen to keep the talented Frenchman after an outstanding debut season in the Premier League.
However, the club has been shocked by demands made by his player’s representatives during talks for a new deal.
Saliba is currently on a £40,000 a week deal at the Gunners, but while both parties are keen to continue their relationship at the Emirates, the player’s camp want £120, 000 for their client.
This demand from Saliba’s representatives have left both parties in a transfer limbo.
PSG are watching closely
With Arsenal struggling to tie the player down, Ligue 1 champions PSG are watching closely with intentions of making a move for the player.
The French moneybags will know a lot about Saliba having watched him closely during his time on loan at Olympique Marseille.
Saliba was a £27million signing from another French club, St Etienne, and will not have a problem going back home despite being at him at the Emirates.
The youngster was superb last season for the Gunners and until that unfortunate injury which ruled him out of the season with 11 games to go, the Gunners were in race for the title.
But following his injury, Arteta and his boys failed to maintain the momentum which shows how important Saliba was to the team.
It is left to be seen what Arsenal will do as PSG will have no issues meeting Saliba’s demand.
