The Nigerian star says music has become central to the team’s spirit—and ensuring it plays is now her responsibility.

Nnadozie explains why boombox is essential in Falcons camp

Nnadozie, widely regarded as the Super Falcons’ unofficial DJ, said her teammates expect her to bring the music wherever the squad goes.“If I’m not carrying that boombox, the players will beat me up,” she joked.

The goalkeeper became famous during Nigeria’s triumphant WAFCON campaign in Morocco for arriving at training with a boombox on her shoulders, blasting songs from Afrobeats stars including Wizkid, Davido, Rema and Burna Boy.

According to Nnadozie, the music helps energise the squad and boost morale before training and matches.

“It keeps us moving, it gives us the morale,” she said. “I love to be happy. When I’m happy, you get the best of me,” the Brighton star added.

The 25-year-old also revealed the original boombox used during the Morocco tournament was accidentally lost during the trip home.

“We lost the boombox in Morocco. We forgot it inside the bus when we were going to the airport. We have a new one now,” she added.

Away from her off-field role as team entertainer, Nnadozie continues to build an extraordinary football legacy.

Already a World Cup veteran after making her tournament debut at just 18, she has gone on to establish herself among Africa’s greatest-ever goalkeepers.

She is currently the only goalkeeper to have won the CAF Women’s Golden Gloves award three consecutive times, claiming the honour in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
