Super Falcons' Nnadozie unfazed By Cameroon rivalry ahead of Olympics qualifier
Nigerian goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie believes that the Super Falcons will not be distracted by their intense rivalry with Cameroon heading into their pivotal Olympics qualifying playoff.
Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that the Falcons and the Indomitable Lionesses will rekindle their rivalry when they go head-to-head in the Olympic qualifiers.
Nnadozie on Cameroon tie
The Super Falcons will face the Indomitable Lionesses over two legs for a place at the 2024 Paris Olympics football competition.
Nnadozie played a key role when Nigeria knocked out Cameroon 1-0 in the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinals in Morocco.
But despite their history, the 23-year-old says the focus is solely on preparing for the upcoming qualifiers.
"That win was great, but we shouldn’t pay too much attention to our previous results against them," Nnadozie told FIFA website.
"We’ll have to stay focused, train more intensely, work harder and stick together.”
The Paris FC goalkeeper believes that Nigeria can beat their rivals again with the right preparation and mentality.
"If we do all that, we’ll beat them, I suspect," Nnadozie added.
With Olympic dreams on the line, Nnadozie is confident Nigeria's women have the talent and determination to overcome a tricky opponent and progress to the Paris Games.
