Maduka Okoye, widely regarded as the most physically attractive player in the Super Eagles squad, has turned heads once again, this time with a bold new hairstyle.
The 26-year-old German-born shot-stopper posted a pair of stylish selfies from inside his car shortly after Nigeria’s 2-2 friendly draw against Jordan on Tuesday night, 31 March.
The Udinese goalkeeper had been in fine form for the Super Eagles, starting in last week’s 2-1 friendly victory over Iran. However, he picked up a minor knock during training and was forced to withdraw from the Jordan match.
Okoye enters his braids era?
Despite missing the game, the goalkeeper still made his presence felt online with the fresh look, proving that even on the sidelines he remains one of the most stylish members of the national team.
In the images shared on his Snapchat, Okoye sports sharp, neatly braided cornrows with a clean fade on the sides. He relaxed in a grey Under Armour zip-up jacket, gold earring glinting, and his signature beard neatly trimmed.
Maduka Okoye's season so far
Okoye’s 2025/26 league season for Udinese Calcio began under a cloud of controversy, as he was sidelined for the first six matches of the Serie A campaign due to a two-month betting-related suspension.
The ban stemmed from suspicious betting patterns surrounding a yellow card he received in the previous season. Despite fears of a much longer disqualification, he returned to the squad in late October, marking his comeback with a composed performance in a 1–1 draw against Cremonese.
Since his return, Okoye has reclaimed his spot as the undisputed first-choice goalkeeper, making 22 league appearances and recording 6 clean sheets so far. He has been central to several high-profile results, including a 'five-star performance' in a 1–0 victory over defending champions Napoli.
Okoye's consistent league form has also led to a significant career revival on the international stage; after being left out of the 2025 AFCON squad, he was recently recalled to the Nigeria national team for friendlies in March 2026.
