Report: Salah meets ex-Liverpool star in Chelsea to discuss future
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah reportedly met with his former teammate and captain, Jordan Henderson, to discuss a possible Saudi Pro League switch.
The 33-year-old’s future at Liverpool hangs in the balance after he publicly expressed his displeasure with the club and his manager. Salah accused Liverpool of throwing him under the bus and Slot of poor communication after he was benched for three consecutive matches.
Salah tests the waters
The Big Spenders in the Saudi Pro League have repeatedly tried to acquire Salah. The former Roma forward’s recent rant, in which he suggested that he could leave the club in the January transfer window, has piqued their interest.
After Salah's explosive interview, the SPL chief, Omar Mugharbel, exploited the rift, reaffirming their interests in the Egyptian and their keen desire to land him.
According to the Daily Mail, Salah is also evaluating the possibility. Per the report, he met with former Liverpool midfielder Henderson, who spent six months in Saudi Arabia playing for Al-Ettifaq, to discuss what it was like playing in the Gulf.
The duo was said to have met up in Shalini, an Italian eatery in Chelsea. They came in disguises and were reportedly in deep conversation, with Salah doing most of the questioning while intently listening to Henderson's answers.
Meanwhile, the MLS is also a possible destination for the forward. On Thursday, the league's commissioner, Don Garber, threw his hat in the ring, urging Salah to ask Lionel Messi and Thomas Müller about the MLS.
