PSG vs Bayern Munich reveals who Liverpool must replace Salah with

Michael Olise's incredible performance against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League earned him ceaseless plaudits; one such came from former Liverpool star Jermaine Pennant, who urged the Reds to sign the France international as Mohamed Salah's successor.

Taking to X immediately after the final whistle,  Pennant emphatically declared, “Liverpool go out and get Olise right now, at all costs. There is your replacement for Mo Salah. AT ALL COSTS. Any amount plus Gakpo."

 Despite the Bavarians falling short in the record-breaking nine-goal thriller at the Parc des Princes, Olise was undeniably the standout performer on the pitch, ruthlessly terrorising the PSG defence and registering a goal. 

His scintillating performance has earned widespread plaudits and has amplified calls for a blockbuster return to the English Premier League.

Pennant's comment hopes to influence Liverpool’s hierarchy, as the club are actively searching to replace legendary talisman Mohamed Salah. 

The 33-year-old Egyptian recently announced his impending summer departure from the club after nine successful years. 

Tragically, a recent injury may have ruled him out for the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign, meaning Salah has possibly played his final game in a Liverpool shirt. 

While the Merseyside club have evaluated other targets, Olise remains a highly rated name on their succession shortlist. 

However, executing the transfer presents a mammoth financial hurdle; Olise is firmly tied to a long-term contract at the Allianz Arena that runs until 2029. 

Furthermore, Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently suggested that the winger was priceless, revealing that they had an internal policy against selling such players.
