De Gea has been a Manchester United mainstay since joining the club as an emerging 21-year-old in 2011, but his time at the club could be coming to an end with the goalkeeper set to run out of his current contract at the end of the 2022/23 season.
Despite the strong criticism he has faced in recent years, especially about his lack of ability with the ball at his feet, De Gea says that he is still committed to the Manchester United cause and intends to stay longer at the club he loves.

De Gea is yet to agree to a new contract which will see him extend his stay in Manchester beyond the summer, but optimism over a new deal coming soon is very high from both the player's and the club’s perspective.
De Gea has been instrumental in Manchester United’s recent successes and lifted his 8th title with the Red Devils following their EFL Cup triumph over Newcastle in February.
Manager Erik Ten Hag has already expressed his willingness for De Gea to continue, and a new deal appears on the horizon for the current Manchester United No. 1.
