No space for Martinelli - Al Hilal in talks over record-sale for Arsenal star

Martinelli's future at the North London club has been a subject of speculation, particularly after he was omitted from the squad for the Community Shield and the Premier League season opener against Coventry City.

Since joining from Brazilian side Ituano in 2019, Martinelli has become a significant player under manager Mikel Arteta. 

Over his tenure in England, he has scored 62 goals in 278 appearances, playing a key role in Arsenal's recent campaigns for major trophies.

Negotiations are underway between the two clubs for a deal that could be worth around £60 million. Discussions are also taking place with Martinelli's representatives to determine personal terms.

According to reports, the 25-year-old is receptive to the idea of joining the Saudi giants after being told he would be sold this summer.

Should a transfer materialise near the proposed £60 million figure, it would represent Arsenal's most lucrative sale ever, surpassing the £35 million received from Liverpool for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in 2017.

Arsenal are reportedly satisfied with the valuation and would permit Martinelli to depart the Emirates for that fee. 

This development follows the player's recent decision to decline a move to Turkish club Galatasaray.

The winger is now in the final year of his contract, though Arsenal possess an option to extend it by an additional season. 

Al-Hilal's interest presents an opportunity for the Gunners to secure a substantial transfer fee before the window closes.
