Mike Edwards earlier declared his intention to enter the professional boxing world.
The sportsman announced the news on his X handle with a statement that said, “Breaking News: Excited to announce my entry into the world of professional boxing! Thrilled to join the Cruiserweight division roster on @MisfitsBoxing.
“Get ready for an electrifying debut as I step into the ring to showcase my skills and determination.”
Mike Edwards vs Jake Cornish
Edwards participated in the Misfits Boxing Cruiserweight division, which is run by English social media personality and Nigerian-born professional boxer Olajide Olayinka Williams "JJ" Olatunji, better known by his stage name KSI.
In his first fight against Jake Cornish, Edwards a former athletics star got the victory.
It went all rounds at the Dublin Arena but Edwards won the fight by decision from the judges.
