Former Barcelona and now Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi has overtaken his great rival Cristiano Ronaldo to become the footballer with the most Guinness World Records.
Messi broke the hearts of many Barcelona fans by opting to join MLS side Inter Miami after his contract at PSG expired.
The 36-year-old has started life in the United States with a bang, scoring three goals in his first two games for Inter Miami.
Messi leads Ronaldo in Guinness World Records
The Guinness World Records confirmed that Messi had overtaken Al Nassr's Cristiano Ronaldo in the never-ending battle for supremacy.
The record body shared the updated chart of Most Guinness World Records Titles Achieved By Footballers via their official Twitter handle on Tuesday.

GWR tweeted: “For now, Messi is clear of Ronaldo.

The pair have been going against each other for the last 15 years, for the crown of greatest footballer ever.
Messi and Ronaldo now ply their trades outside of Europe but the debate continues to rage on and will likely continue even years after they retire.
