Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee is reportedly contemplating leaving Manchester United to improve his guaranteed game time after he was dropped from the Netherlands squad recently.
The Dutch-Nigerian joined the Red Devils from Bologna in the summer of 2024. However, injuries plus inconsistent form meant that he failed to cement a place for himself.
Zirkzee contemplating an exit
Manchester United went all out for offensive signings in this recently concluded window, bringing in Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbuemo and Benjamin Sesko, further encroaching on Zirkzee’s possible game time.
He has not started any league game this season, managing only 83 minutes cumulatively from three matches. He was not involved with L’Oranje during this international break, with Ronald Koeman citing his sparse game time for Manchester United.
“I don’t think they’re (Brobbey and Zirkzee) playing at all and have injuries. Or they’ve transferred. If they eventually play more, they’ll remain options. But we’re also looking beyond that,” Koeman said, per One Football.
The exit option
With the World Cup approaching, the 24-year-old has a limited time to get his career back on track. According to The Times Serie A sides Roma and Como are interested in his signature and could make an approach for him in January.
