A Manchester United legend showed support to one of the club's struggling players he believes will turn out great.
Former Manchester United winger Lee Sharpe lauded Joshua Zirkzee, projecting that the Netherlands international could become a superstar at the club.
The 23-year-old joined the club in the summer of 2024 and has shone in moments but has yet to hit the desired heights. He was slowly building form before suffering a thigh injury, a detail Sharpe ensured to highlight in his argument in support of Zirkzee.

What Sharpe said
"I like Zirkzee—he was unfortunate to get injured when he did, but he’s a real baller and I think he can be a superstar for Manchester United if he can get games under his belt,” he told Metro.
“He needs a regular run. I don’t think he’s had a 10-game stint where he has actually played week in, week out. There were reports that he wasn’t quite fit when he signed, so it took him a bit of time to get up to speed. I think he was just finding his feet when he got injured but I think he’s going to prove a real key player next season."

Meanwhile, Joshua Zirkzee, who sustained an injury in April’s match against Newcastle United and was initially ruled out for the remainder of the season, has returned to training and could be available for the Europa League final against Tottenham, a huge boost for Ruben Amorim.
Diogo Dalot, Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee, all of whom have been out with injuries, were seen participating in the team’s training session at Carrington this Tuesday morning.
While their availability for the final remains unconfirmed, their presence in a training broadcast offers an encouraging sign ahead of Ruben Amorim’s expected squad announcement on Tuesday.
