When questioned about the potential move, Nwaiwu downplayed the rumours, emphasising his commitment to his contractual obligations.

The 23-year-old played a key role in his team's win over Başakşehir, a match where his teammate Mohamed Salah proved to be the difference-maker with two goals.

Salah found the net early in the eighth minute, and after Eldor Shomurodov levelled the score with a penalty, the Egyptian forward scored again just after halftime to secure the three points for Trabzonspor.

Nnaiwu spoke highly of Salah's abilities, highlighting the challenge he presents to opposing defenders.

"Every player who plays against Salah needs to be very prepared. Because, as we all know, he is a top-level player," he noted.

The Nigerian defender also expressed his admiration for the forward, acknowledging the difficulty of facing such a high-calibre opponent.

"As a defender, I would like to play against Salah. If I'm going to play against him, I need to be 100% ready and completely focused.

“Because Salah is not a player you can easily take out of the game. He has very high quality," Nnaiwu concluded.
