France FA to file case with FIFA over 'his mother is Nigerian' derrogatory remarks from Argentine players
The French Football Federation (FFF) has officially released a statement in response to a viral clip of Argentine players making a mockery of the diversity of Les Bleus's squad.
Following their victory against Colombia to win consecutive Copa America titles, the Albiceleste sang and made merry. One of their songs, however, raised eyebrows as they derogatorily derided the African origin of French players.
The racist undertones in the song attracted a wave of criticism, and now the Federation Francaise de Football has taken up the matter.
What the FFF said
The federation condemned the content on the viral clip and promised to take it up legally with FIFA, as well as the Argentine Football Association.
“The president of the Fédération Française de Football, Philippe Diallo, condemns in the strongest terms the unacceptable racist and discriminatory remarks which were made against the players of the French team in the context of a chant sung by players and supporters of the Argentina team after its victory in the Copa America and broadcast in a video on social networks.”
"Given the seriousness of these shocking remarks, which are contrary to the values of sport and human rights, the FFF president has decided to contact its Argentinian counterpart and FIFA directly to file a legal complaint for racist and discriminatory remarks.”

What did they sing?
As Pulse Sports reported, Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez was filming the celebrations on Instagram Live, and the midfielder stopped the video moments after members of Argentina’s squad joined in the offensive chant.
The chant claims that France’s players are ‘all from Angola’ and makes a vile reference to a reported relationship between Kylian Mbappe and transgender model Ines Rau and how his mother is from Nigeria (Mbappe's mother is of Algerian origin).
The video has since gone viral on social media, with fans and observers condemning the act.
