Ferrari enters this period with a familiar face at the helm.
The team has officially announced Federic Vasseur will continue at the helm as Team Principal, marking a significant move for the future as the Frenchman leads the iconic Formula 1 team into a new era.
Vasseur joined the iconic red team at the beginning of 2023.
From 2026, the cars will undergo significant changes, transforming the racing landscape.
Ferrari has been waiting years for a championship, but both the drivers and the team itself have been far off the pace.
The much-hyped partnership with seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has also fizzled out this season.
The 40-year-old Brit hasn't even reached the podium.
Meanwhile, lead driver Charles Leclerc is also struggling to produce results.
"We want to stick with that"
But Ferrari maintains its faith in Vasseur's leadership.
"His ability to perform under pressure, embrace innovation and pursue performance perfectly aligns with Ferrari's vision for the coming seasons," a statement on the team's website reads.
"We want to continue building on what we've started and stick with that. Our confidence in Fred's leadership is reflected in this contract extension. We will continue motivated, determined, and focused," says Benedetto Vigna, Ferrari's CEO.
Vasseur's Reaction
Vasseur also commented on his extended stay at Ferrari.
"I am grateful for the continued trust Ferrari has placed in me.
"This extension is not just validation, but a challenge to keep performing, stay focused, and deliver.
"We have built a strong foundation over the past 30 months, and now we must continue building. We will proceed consistently and determinedly.
"We know what's expected of us, and together we will take the next step forward."
Hungarian GP
The contract extension comes just before the final race weekend leading into the summer break.
The Hungarian GP this weekend is the last race before the teams have almost four weeks off.
The Formula 1 circus will then return at the end of August for the Dutch GP at the Zandvoort circuit.
