However, Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly stepping in to derail Lionel Messi’s plans by trying to persuade the former Real Madrid man to join him at Al-Nassr instead of heading to MLS.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, the Portuguese superstar has personally reached out to the 34-year-old Brazilian midfielder, who confirmed in January that he will leave Old Trafford when his contract expires this summer.

Ronaldo sees Casemiro as the perfect defensive anchor to help Al-Nassr finally challenge for the Saudi Pro League title, offering a lucrative package that is expected to dwarf most alternatives.

The move would mark an emotional reunion for two players who won everything together at the Bernabeu, including multiple Champions Leagues and La Liga titles.

Inter Miami, however, remain the frontrunners. David Beckham’s side have made Casemiro their top target to replace Sergio Busquets in midfield and have already held advanced talks.

Reports also claim the player recently visited Miami to inspect facilities and meet the board.

Pairing Casemiro with Messi would create one of football’s most unlikely alliances: a Real Madrid legend lining up alongside his former Clasico rival.

Casemiro is yet to decide. While the financial and lifestyle appeal of Saudi Arabia is strong, the chance to play alongside Messi in MLS, and the appeal of Miami as a fine city to raise a family, could appeal to the Brazilian star.

Meanwhile, Casemiro's main objective will be helping Manchester United finish in the UEFA Champions League places this season.
