Former Nigerian international Sunday Oliseh has showered praise on the Super Eagles following their impressive 2–0 victory over Algeria’s Desert Foxes in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The encounter, played on Saturday at the Grand Stade de Marrakech, saw Nigeria deliver a composed and authoritative performance to overcome their North African rivals and book a place in the last four of the tournament.
Osimhen shines as Nigeria takes control
Nigeria wasted no time asserting dominance after the break, with Victor Osimhen breaking the deadlock just two minutes into the second half.
The Galatasaray forward powered home a header to give the Super Eagles a deserved lead.
Ten minutes later, Osimhen turned provider, laying on a perfectly weighted assist for Adams Akor, who calmly finished to double Nigeria’s advantage.
What Oliseh said
Reacting to the performance, former Super Eagles captain and head coach Sunday Oliseh took to the social media platform X to commend the team’s all-round display.
“Our Super Eagles are looking like AFCON Champions from every angle! Defence, ball possession and match management,” Oliseh wrote. “What a dominant display. Just love the attitude.”
