The Nigerian senior men’s national team secured passage into the semi-final of the AFCON, where they will face the Atlas Lions after remarkably defeating Algeria 2-0. The Super Eagles have been the most dominant team in the competition; however, Oshoala fears that they might have reached the end of the road, as they face the hosts.

What Oshoala said

The four-time WAFCON winner expressed fears as her countrymen are set to face Morocco, worrying that the hosts may attempt to influence the tie and avoid losing another Cup of Nations knockout clash against a Nigerian team, after the Atlas Lionesses lost the WAFCON in dramatic fashion to her Super Falcons.

She reminded fans that Morocco's Football Federation lodged a formal complaint with CAF against Namibian referee Antsino Twanyanyukwa over what it called “refereeing injustices” after losing the 2025 WAFCON final, fixating on a handball incident in the 82nd minute, which they believe should have resulted in a penalty.
