AFCON 2025: ‘No, we don’t, Vicky is my brother’ - Onuachu denies Golden Boot rivalry with Osimhen in Turkish league
Osimhen and Onuachu both play in the Turkish League but for different clubs (Galatasaray and Trabzonspor) respectively.
Both players have been in good form for their clubs, leading their teams as they aim for the Turkish League title.
Galatasaray are leading the table and are looking to defend the title, while Trabzonspor are third on the standings.
Onuachu speaks on Golden Boot race with Osimhen
Onuachu has revealed that he does not have any golden boot rivalry with Osimhen and sees him as a brother.
In an exclusive interview with Pulse Sports, the forward addressed a question about the intense competition in Turkish football.
He was asked, "You and Victor are the big conversation in Turkish football right now; do you guys have a personal competition of who would score the most goals in the league?"
The forward replied, “No, we don’t, I think Vicky is my brother, we play against each other and afterwards we sat, we talked, we do things together.
“Whoever is playing, we are cheering for each other; whoever is the top scorer, we are happy for each other; we are playing for the Nigeria national team, so I don’t think there should be any competition over there.”
This season, Onuachu has scored 11 goals in the Turkish league, leading to his call-up for AFCON for the Nigerian national team. Osimhen, on the other hand, has scored six goals this season in the league.
