26-year-old striker does the unthinkable - denies Real Madrid and Barcelona something nobody has for 15 years
In a season of absolute madness in LALIGA, Ukrainian sensation Artem Dovbyk has pulled off an achievement over Real Madrid and Barcelona that's sure to have jaws dropping all across Spain.
For the first time since the 2008/09 campaign, neither Barcelona nor Real Madrid can lay claim to having the league's top scorer.
Real Madrid and Barcelona denied in LALIGA
The 26-year-old Girona marksman has denied the big two Spanish giants a feat they've monopolised for over a decade with his sensational 24-goal haul in his debut La Liga season. Talk about making an entrance!
But get this – Dovbyk didn't just edge out the Barca and Madrid stars, he absolutely smashed the competition into oblivion on the final day of the season.
Going into the last round of fixtures trailing Alexander Sorloth by two goals in the Golden Boot race, the Ukrainian phenom did what any iconic striker would do – he bagged a jaw-dropping hat-trick!
His treble against Granada in Girona's 7-0 demolition job not only saw him leapfrog Sorloth but also cemented his name in the history books as the first-ever Ukrainian to claim the coveted La Liga Golden Boot. An iconic moment for the Girona star and his nation!

But here's the real deal, the last and only other time the top scorer in LALIGA didn't come from Barca or Real was way back in 2009 when former Manchester United star Diego Forlan took the crown in his debut season at Atlético Madrid.
So, let that sink in – Dovbyk has ended a monopoly stretching back 15 years! The new king of LALIGA has officially been coronated, and his name is Artem Dovbyk.
All hail the Ukrainian prince who just stunned the biggest giants in Spanish football with his elite scoring prowess. What a season, what a story!
