Victor Boniface opens up on shocking Werder Bremen move
Super Eagles star Victor Boniface recently discussed his move to Werder Bremen, stating his goals, ambitions and excitement to join the club.
Boniface to Bremen
As Pulse Sports reported, Boniface joined Bundesliga club Werder Bremen on a season-long loan from Bayer Leverkusen. The transfer came on the final day of the summer window, concluding a period of uncertainty for the Nigerian striker.
The loan agreement, which does not include an option to buy, sees Werder Bremen cover a portion of his salary. This move followed a failed transfer to Italian club AC Milan.
What Boniface said
Speaking in an interview with the club, Boniface was asked what accomplishments he wanted to attain at the club, and he had the following to say:
“I never set myself any personal goals ahead of the season, such as scoring a certain amount of goals and so on,” he said, per Werder Bremen’s website. “I want to be successful with the team and I want to win games. I’d love to do that with.”
“I’m delighted with the support I’m getting from the fans and the whole club, as well as the excitement that the news of my transfer brought about. That’s the biggest thing for a footballer. I want to use this excitement to give them something back on the pitch.
