I blocked the b*****d - Boniface FIRES back with 'x-rated' remark after being told he has 'no talent'
Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has come out swinging at his critics, recalling an ugly spat with an online critic who said he has "no talent," before delivering a savage parting shot and cutting her off completely.
The Bayer Leverkusen forward, who sealed a loan switch to Bundesliga rivals Werder Bremen on deadline day, made the revelation during the latest episode of his Culture League podcast.
The 24-year-old was joined by fellow Super Eagles stars Wilfred Ndidi and Tolu Arokodare, alongside Nollywood actress Osas Ighodaro on the pod.
What’s the gossip?
The conversation turned when Wolves’ new signing Arokodare, spoke candidly about how he actively seeks out negative comments online.
“When I’m struggling mentally, I’ll go looking for the harsh stuff,” Arokodare admitted.
“I don’t always want to hear compliments. Sometimes criticism carries a bit of truth, and I use that as fuel to prove people wrong.”
His honesty struck a chord, but it also opened the door for Boniface to share one of his own run-ins with a critic.
Boniface hits back
Picking up from Arokodare’s reflections on criticism, Boniface admitted he too had gone digging into what people say about him.
Rather than brushing it off, the new Werder signing decided to investigate.
“Concering what he [Tolu] said just now. There’s a time I searched on like.. Twitter, and there’s a random lady saying I don’t have a talent, that this guy is so….no talent or anything. So I searched for that, I saw what she said. So I said okay….let me look for this lady.” Boniface explained.
“Then I went to her Instagram. No, no, no, it’s funny. I know it’s funny.”
He revealed that he initially toyed with the idea of engaging her but ultimately chose a blunt response.
“One mind said, ‘try to DM this girl and see’. So she said I don’t have a talent. So I opened the message, guess what’s there? She’s been asking me for money for long time, and you saying I don’t have talent, you’ll be in my DM begging me for money. I replied and I said to her, ‘send me your account,’ and the b*****d was typing and I blocked her.”
Boniface’s story sparked laughter among his co-hosts, though his language - uncensored on the podcast - raised eyebrows.
The striker’s comments arrive during a turbulent period in his career.
While his stock rose two seasons ago with Leverkusen, last season proved to be the most challenging since his arrival in the Bundesliga.
After a proposed move to Milan fell through following reports of failed medical, injury setbacks and inconsistent form saw him sent to Werder Bremen on deadline day.
The Nigeria international will be hoping to silence more critics in the best way possible as he hopes to secure regular minutes at Bremen, having fallen down the pecking order at Leverkusen.
