Manchester City youngster Phil Foden has pulled out of the England squad and will miss the crucial clash against Liverpool this coming weekend, after undergoing surgery to treat acute appendicitis.
The 22-year-old has seen his form turn around after suffering from a foot injury earlier in the season, and Manchester City will not be able to count on him against bitter rivals Liverpool, as they look to close in on league leaders Arsenal.
Foden pulls out of England squad
Manchester City announced via their official channels that Phil Foden recently underwent an appendectomy causing him to pull out of the English squad and return to Manchester for rehabilitation.
This ruled him out of England's clash against Ukraine in the second game of their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign.
