Al Hilal have been slammed for their treatment of superstar Neymar following his recent injury, with fans comparing the disrespect shown to Brazilian to the incident involving Osimhen and Napoli

Fans on social media have blasted Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal for the post which they used to announce Neymar’s recent injury, calling it disrespectful to the Brazilian.

Neymar suffers horrific injury

Neymar picked up an ACL injury while on international duty with Brazil and could be ruled out for the rest of the 2023/24 season in a devastating blow to Al Hilal, who just signed the forward in a blockbuster deal this summer.

The Saudi Pro League giants announced Neymar’s injury on social media platform X, with a graphic mock-up of Neymar and a caption that read, “The medical tests ‘NEYMAR’ underwent, confirmed the Anterior Cruciate Ligament and Meniscus tear injury in his knee, he will be going through surgery and then a treatment program that will be determined later… Return Stronger.”

The social media post did not go down well with fans, however, who were shocked at the unprofessionalism Al Hilal showed in their choice of pictures to use for the graphic, as well as the impassioned tone of the club’s message to their star player.

Fans compare Neymar treatment to Osimhen

The users noted that Al Hilal could have used a more fitting image of Neymar, rather than the picture of him writhing in pain after suffering the ACL injury against Uruguay during the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers.

A user noted that such levels of disrespect from a club to its star player had not been witnessed since Napoli’s outrageous video of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen.

The unfortunate image of Neymar, unlike Napoli’s video of Osimhen, has stayed up despite the backlash, and Al Hilal appear unlikely to see the apparent error of their ways.
