Victor Osimhen's agent insists the Nigerian striker is not interested in a switch despite persisting reports otherwise

Roberto Calenda, agent of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, has branded the reports making the rounds that the Super Eagles striker could dump him for new representation as fake news, asking the general public to disregard such.

Calenda debunks rumoured switch

Osimhen has not enjoyed the expected follow up season to his 2022/23 campaign with Napoli, and has made headlines for more off-the-field incidents than on-field heroics in the new season, leading many to suggest that the Nigerian is unsettled in Italy.

The Super Eagles star has been linked with a move away from Napoli as talks on a new deal with the Partenopei have stalled since the summer, and a journalist recently published supposed insider information that Osimhen was looking to change agents to facilitate a new contract or a transfer.

DAZN journalist Orazio Accomando tweeted that Osimhen was strongly considering switching from Calenda to a French agent, but the Nigerian’s current agent has debunked the rumour.

Calenda responded to the tweet about Osimhen possibly seeking new representation, saying, “I was ‘seriously thinking’ of replying to this person but then I read that he has been writing fake news about Osimhen for months… Once upon a time there was news!”

The Italian agent has been Osimhen’s representative since 2022, and was vocal in support of the Nigeiran forward during the recent TikTok scandal with Napoli, threatening legal action against the club for their treatment of his talent.
