Super Eagles defender Ola Aina provided an update on his injury via social media.

Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina provided a positive update on his injury in a social media post which suggested that his recovery is going on schedule.

The 28-year-old suffered a hamstring tear while on Nigeria duty in the international break. Upon returning to England, tests confirmed the hamstring injury would keep him out for a considerable period. Hence, they removed Aina from their Premier League squad while he recovers.

Initial medical assessments and media reports put the layoff at roughly three months, as the former Torino man went under the knife.

Aina's update

The Super Eagles defender underwent a successful surgical operation in mid-September, and, as Pulse Sports reported, he vowed to return stronger

Aina’s social media activity has not waned with the injury, and he has used the platform to share updates on his convalescence.

According to Panafricafootball, the versatile fullback visited his doctors on Tuesday to assess the progress of his injury, after which he shared “And it's clean” on Snapchat, suggesting that there were no setbacks.

Aina’s absence has been felt both at club and country level. Forest have struggled without him, with erstwhile manager Ange Postecoglou decrying his absence. Also, the Super Eagles have crucial World Cup playoffs coming up this month, and Eric Chelle will not have his trusted right-back available.

Aina is expected to make a return in the December–January window, though more recent reports suggest full training may realistically come in January 2026 if recovery continues on schedule.
