Victor Boniface: Nigerian striker crowned Africa's best dribbler, 14th in the world

Nigeria Super Eagles sensation Victor Boniface is the only African on the top 50 list of the best under-23 dribblers in the World.

Nigerian superstar and Bayer Leverkusen sensation, Victor Boniface, has been recognised as Africa’s premier young dribbler. 

Pulse Sports Nigeria can report that Boniface’s extraordinary skill and finesse on the field have earned him a place in the latest issue from CIES Football Observatory.

The 22-year-old striker was listed among the top 100 dribblers aged 23 or under in the latest rankings released by CIES Football Observatory. 

Boniface was ranked 14th position on the list of the best dribblers in the top five leagues in the world and 43rd in the global ranking.

A breakdown of Boniface’s dribbling ability shows that he attempts 4.5 dribbles per 90 minutes, with a success rate of 58%.

The CIES list for the top five leagues is led by Barcelona’s youngster, Lamine Yamal, 16, who averages over six dribbles per game at a success rate of 56%.

At the global level, Club Brugge’s Antonia Nusa is the king of dribbles. The 18-year-old averages over 10 dribbles per 90 minutes, with a success rate of 64%.

As Boniface continues to rise at Bayer Leverkusen, where he has become a fan favourite following his move in the summer, Nigerians will eagerly anticipate his future contributions to the game.
