It did not take long for the visitors to make their intentions known when a miscued from former Premier League star at Arsenal and Chelsea, Aubameyang, fell kindly for 18-year-old Emran Soglo who made no mistakes to fire from close range to put Marseille ahead at the break on his debut.

However, Metz responded superbly after the break with two goals in the space of six second-half minutes to completely turn things around in their favour thanks to goals from Cheikh Sabaly and Georges Milkautadze.
